“My son was very
unhappy in the two previous home
daycares he was in. We were at our
rope’s end debating whether it was worth
a second income when our son was so sad.
A coworker recommended Almost Home to
us. From the first time we visited
Almost Home, we were made to feel very
comfortable. The wonderful staff
reassured us that they would do whatever
it took to help my son adjust, and they
followed through on that promise.
On his 4th
day at Almost Home, my son reached out
for his teacher and never looked back to
see me leave. No tears, no screaming. It
was the first time in months that I was
able to go to work with a smile. My only
regret is that I didn’t find Almost Home
months sooner.”

“Our children have
been attending Almost Home Child
Development Center for the last four
years. After touring many child care
centers and interviewing many in-home
child care providers, we decided on
Almost Home because of the cleanliness
of the center, the low staff turnover,
and the quality of care that the
children receive while they are at the
center. I was especially pleased at the
willingness of the staff to work with
the special dietary and health needs of
my children. It is also nice for working
parents to have the pre-school and 4-K
program right in the daycare – no need
to transport your kids back and forth.
In our opinion, Almost Home provides the
best child care in the area!

Their love of
teaching and children surely shows
“Our children, who are
5 years and 8 months of age, have both
been attending Almost Home since they
were infants. The care that they receive
is exceptional. Lisa Busalacchi runs a
first-rate daycare. She and her staff
are outstanding! Lisa is experienced,
competent and dedicated, and she has a
great rapport with her clients. Lisa and
all of the teachers at Almost Home are
patient, knowledgeable, skilled,
enthusiastic and committed individuals.
They are truly devoted to providing
excellent care. Their love of teaching
and children surely shows!!
It’s hard to express
in words what a wonderful feeling it is
as a parent to have your children
comfortable in their surroundings. It
means so much for us to have such a
great daycare for them to attend. We
have been truly blessed with the
individuals at Almost Home who are so
caring and loving, and keep our children
safe and healthy. Undeniably, it is
almost home.”

We go
out of our way to take our son to Almost
Home
“As a first-time
parent, I wanted that special one-on-one
attention that an in-home daycare could
provide for my infant. I soon realized
that an in-home daycare provides special
care, but doesn’t have the
accountability or structure that my
child really needed. After visiting a
few other places, it was evident that
Almost Home was what we were looking for
– a structured, yet caring environment.
After almost 3 years,
I am still amazed how I can show up at
any time of the day and the place is
always spotless and the kids are under
control. I also am impressed by how all
the teachers know my child’s name, even
if he wasn’t in their class. Their staff
is beyond exceptional. They are so
attentive to my son’s shy personality
and really go the extra mile to engage
him in all the activities.
Although I left my job
in Oconomowoc and now work from my home
in Lake Mills, my husband, who works in
New Berlin, or I still go the extra
miles to take him to Almost Home where
we know he is truly nurtured and
educated.”

Our son
still likes to say good-bye to several
of his past teachers every day when we
leave
“As new parents, we
were nervous about leaving our first son
with people other than family. The
teachers at Almost Home made it much
easier by giving us detailed information
about his day and treating him as a very
special baby, just like he was to us. As
our son grew, he changed teachers and
classrooms. We can honestly say we have
loved each new teacher as much as the
last. He still likes to say good-bye to
several of his past teachers every day
when we leave. Now we have a second son
who attends Almost Home, and we feel
good knowing that the same teachers who
cared for our first son a few years ago
are providing care for our second. The
teachers talk to us about the
differences and similarities between our
boys, which shows the interest they take
in each child.
The communication is
great, such as the daily updates for the
teachers, the letters that Lisa
publishes with news or upcoming events,
snack schedules, and hot lunch menus.
The pre-school curriculum is excellent.
Our oldest son is always telling us
about a song or story that he learned in
school and lessons about strangers or
manners. Our toddler always has a smile
on his face when we pick him up from the
young toddler room. We feel very
fortunate to have found a place with
such great teachers whom we trust to
care for the two most special boys in
our lives.
Here are some
examples of one of the special touches I
enjoy about Almost Home:
One day as I was picking up our
boys, our oldest was sad because he
couldn’t say goodbye to Ms. Colleen, his
former teacher who had already left for
the day. Ms. Lisa (the director)
overheard and promised him that she
would leave a note for Ms. Colleen to
say goodbye to him the next day. The
next day, Ms. Colleen followed up and
said goodbye to him, as he was ready to
take his nap. He way so happy that she
remembered to say goodbye to him!
Another day, I walked
in the door to pick up my boys and was
surprised to see my youngest son at the
front desk with Lisa. He was having a
fun time playing with her. He was
getting a little fussy in his room and
Lisa brought him up front for some
one-on-one-time and a change of scenery.
I was very appreciative of the
individualized care for him.”
